MADISON, Wis. - The 11
th-ranked Providence College women's cross country team competed at the 2024 NCAA Women's Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis. The squad finished third out of 31 teams with 183 points. For the Friars it marked their seventh time finishing in the top three all-time at the NCAAs. It also was the team's highest finish since finishing first in 2013. The Friar women were making their 32nd appearance and fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Cross Country Championship.
The Friars were led by senior
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) in the 6k race, placing 10th in a time of 19:45.1. Graduate student
Alex Millard (Kent, England) completed the race in 20
th place (19:51.5). Graduate student
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton England) placed 24th (19:54.2). Also scoring for the Friars were senior
Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland) crossing the line in 56th (20:16.9) and freshman
Anna Gardiner (Downpatrick, Northern Ireland) placing 128th (20:43.1). (For team scoring - May (ninth), Millard (16

"It's a fantastic feeling to be back on the podium after nine years," Friar Head Coach
Ray Treacy said. "The team got better as the season went along and they had their best race of the season today, which is the right time to do it. Everybody executed the race brilliantly. Everyone overachieved and finished higher than what was predicted."
With their top-40 finishes, May, Millard and Flockhart each garnered All-America honors. For May it was her fifth All-America accolade and first in cross country. Flockhart claimed her sixth All-America honor. It also was her first in cross country. Millard claimed her first All-America honor.
