PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Allstate and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced on Tuesday, Feb. 20, that 193 student-athletes are being considered for selection to the inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team. Providence College women's hockey defenseman Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) has been named a nominee.

The award recognizes student-athletes who excel in academics, athletics and community impact. Nominees are selected by athletics administrators, conference office staff and coaches. A distinguished selection committee, including ESPN reporter Holly Rowe and analyst Sam Acho, will select 20 student-athletes—10 women and 10 men—to join the 2024-25 Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter).

Becker, a graduate student at Providence College pursuing a Master of Business Administration, earned a Bachelor of Science in management and graduated magna cum laude. The five-year player has made the dean's list seven times and is a member of Chi Alpha Sigma. She has been named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team four times, earning Distinguished Scholar status for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher in each semester of four varsity seasons.

The graduate-student has dedicated over 75 hours to community service, focusing on children, health, and civic engagement. She has volunteered with organizations like Girls on the Run, Team IMPACT, and RI Sting, mentoring young athletes and supporting youth programs. Her efforts include coaching, writing encouragement letters, and participating in initiatives such as the Team IMPACT 5K and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. She has also contributed to holiday charity events and school programs, embodying leadership and commitment both on and off the ice.

This season, Becker leads all Friar defensemen with 17 points on four goals and 13 assists. She has recorded two power-play goals and 41 blocked shots. Becker was named Hockey East Defender of the Week on Jan. 6.
