PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College senior defenseman
Guillaume Richard (Cap-Sante, Que.) has been named as an All-Hockey East Second Team All-Star on Friday (March 14). Richard is the first Friar to earn Second Team accolades since Tyce Thompson in 2020-21.
Serving as an alternate captain in 35 games this season, Richard has totaled 13 points on one goal and 12 assists with a +11 rating and team-high 41 blocked shots. He leads all Friar skaters with an average of 22:44 time on ice. In 137 career games at Providence, Richard has 53 points on eight goals and 45 assists with a +28 rating.
The No. 5 seeded Friars will visit No. 4 seeded UConn in the Hockey East Quarterfinals on Friday (March 14, 7 PM) at the Toscano Family Ice Forum in Storrs, Conn.
