PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College junior Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) has been awarded the Cammi Granato Award as Hockey East Player of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday, March 5. Kirchmair becomes the second Friar to earn the honor, joining Karen Thatcher '06, who won in 2004-05.

Last week, Kirchmair was named a Hockey East First Team All-Star and was the only unanimous selection on Feb. 28. Over the course of the season, she also earned three Hockey East Player of the Week honors.

Kirchmair led Hockey East in scoring with 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points, becoming just the second Friar to achieve the feat since Kelli Halcisak in 2002-03. Her 15 goals also tied for the league lead, the first Friar to do so since Sara Hjalmarsson '22, '23G in 2022-23. She recorded a team-high 10 multi-point games, a +20 plus/minus rating and four game-winning goals. Additionally, Kirchmair notched a hat trick against Boston College on Jan. 24 and tallied three other three-point performances.

Kirchmair led all conference players in the regular season with 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 points in 34 games, becoming the first Friar to top the league in overall scoring since Thatcher in 2004-05.

As a rookie, Kirchmair posted 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points, earning Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team honors, Hockey East Rookie of the Week twice and Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Month once. In her sophomore campaign, Kirchmair totaled 11 goals and five assists for 16 points and was named Hockey East Player of the Week once.
