Men’s Track Competes At NCAA First Round

Pat Thygesen ran the 3,000 steeplechase on Friday.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Providence College Friars competed in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field East Preliminary competition on Friday, May 30 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.

Friar graduate student Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase quarterfinal in a time of 9:12.62 and placed 39th.

UPCOMING:
Senior Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) and graduate student Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England) will run in the 1,500 quarterfinals on Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

Sophomore Maeve O'Neill (Cork, Ireland) will compete in the 800 meters quarterfinals on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.  
 
Also scheduled to compete for the Friars is graduate student Alex Millard (Kent, England), who will toe the line in the 5,000 meters on Saturday at 8:10 p.m.
