Bryan Tibaldi Named Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach

Tibaldi has spent the last four seasons coaching in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Men's Basketball Head Coach Kim English announced today (June 10) the hiring of Bryan Tibaldi as an assistant coach.
"We are thrilled to welcome Bryan and his family to Providence," English said. "Bryan is a brilliant and dedicated basketball coach. He played and was a graduate assistant under Hall of Famer Tom Izzo. Bryan cut his teeth as a young coach with the Chicago Bulls. He also had as big of an impact on me as a player at Missouri as anyone and after six seasons at the Cleveland Cavaliers, we are very excited to have Bryan join us in Friartown. It is a tremendous opportunity for our team and players to be coached by people who have extensive experience, not only with successful college programs, but who have intimately witnessed success in the NBA. We also are looking for-ward to having his wife, Kelsey, and his son, Ben, join the Friar Family."
Tibaldi was most recently an assistant coach for the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers. He was promoted to that role in September 2024. He helped the Cavs post an Eastern Conference best 64-18 regular season record and advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Tibaldi assisted the head coach with practice planning and instruction, planned and conducted individual workouts and film sessions with players, scouted opponents and helped the head coach with game preparation and oversaw the Cavs video room and player development staff. Prior to that he had spent three years as a player development/video assistant (2021-2024) for the Cavaliers. Tibaldi began working in the Cavs' organization during the 2019-20 season as an assistant coach with its G-League team the Canton Charge. He spent two seasons coaching the Charge.
Before joining the Cavs' organization, Tibaldi worked for two seasons as an assistant coach at Cleveland State University (2017-19) and two seasons as the director of basketball operations at DePaul University (2015-17).
In 2011, Tibaldi was hired as the video coordinator for the men's basketball program at the University of Missouri. In this role he edited game film, practice film and individual player workout films. He also assisted in the development of six players who were drafted or played in the NBA - Kim English, Phil Pressey, Jordan Clarkson, Marcus Denmon, Jabari Brown and Alex Oriakhi. He worked in this role for two years before being promoted to director of basketball operations in 2013.
Tibaldi began his career in the NBA during the 2009-10 season with the Chicago Bulls. Tibaldi worked with the coaching staff as assistant video coordinator before moving into the front office as a basketball operations assistant during the 2010-11 season. With the Bulls front office, he evaluated college prospects and coordinated pre-draft workouts.
The 2007 graduate of Michigan State was a two-year letterwinner as a walk-on for the Spartans. Michigan State made two NCAA tournament appearances during his career. Tibaldi was named Academic All-Big Ten in 2007. Following his playing days for Tom Izzo, Tibaldi was a graduate assistant from 2007-09 and helped the Spartans to a 58-16 record that included a 2009 Big Ten title before reaching the national championship game.
Tibaldi, a Traverse City, Mich., native, holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Michigan State. He earned his Bachelor's in 2007 and a Master's in 2009.
