Men’s Basketball To Face Harvard In An Exhibition Game

The Friars will host Harvard in an exhibition matchup on Saturday, October 25 at the AMP.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today (July 16) that the Providence College men's basketball team will host Harvard in an exhibition game. The game will be played at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Saturday, Oct. 25. Additional information on the contest, including the game time, will be announced at a later date.
Tickets for the Harvard exhibition game will be included for all season ticket holders in their season ticket package. For fans wanting to purchase single-game tickets to the PC vs. Harvard game, those tickets will go on sale in October and a portion of all single-game tickets sold will go towards supporting our student athletes through revenue sharing.
The last time the Friars and the Crimson met was Nov. 14, 2015 when Providence defeated Harvard, 76-64, at the Amica Mutual Pavilion. Providence has posted a 6-0 record all time against Harvard.
The NCAA announced new legislation, which is set to begin with the 2025-26 season, that allows teams the option to schedule up to two preseason exhibition games with fans in attendance against any four-year school, including Division I teams, without the need to sign a waiver. With the new legislation, the Friars will host Harvard and visit Pittsburgh in exhibition games to start the 2025-26 season.
"We are excited about the new rule that allows teams to scrimmage NCAA Division 1 opponents with fans in attendance," Athletic Director Steve Napolillo said. "This year, we are going on the road to Pittsburgh and Pitt will return to play at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in 2026. We also are looking forward to hosting Harvard in November at the AMP. Although we are always looking for ways to generate revenue in the new collegiate landscape, the game against Harvard will be included in our season ticket package. We appreciate all the loyalty and dedication of our fans and we hope they will be able to take advantage of this early-season action at the AMP."
Providence will open the 2025-26 regular season versus Holy Cross on Monday, Nov. 3 at the Amica Mutual Pavilion.
