PROVIDENCE, R.I.- It was announced today (August 11) that four Providence College men's lacrosse players will compete in the 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship. Freshman midfielder Cooper Anderson (Minneapolis, Minn.) will represent the Haudenosaunee Nationals, junior attackman
Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) will represent the United States, sophomore attackman
Stone Evans (Hartford, Conn.) will compete for Jamaica and redshirt freshman
Cam Sterritt (Brampton, Ont.) will represent Canada in the tournament. The 2025 Championships will take place on Jeju Island, Korea from August 15-24.
Anderson will make his collegiate debut at Providence College in the 2026 men's lacrosse season. Prior to Providence, he competed for Edina High School for four years, where he is the all-time leading points scorer (242). Anderson was named Edina's offensive MVP in each of his four seasons (2022-25). The Minnesota native earned All-State honors three times (2023-25) and was a two-time All-American (2024, 2025). Anderson was named the Minnesota Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year in 2025. He led Edina to a 2025 State Championship victory and was named to the 2025 All-Tournament team.
During his sophomore campaign with the Friars, Chambers played in all 15 games with 14 appearances in the starting lineup. Chambers recorded career-highs in points (26), goals (18) and assists (eight). The attackman ranked fourth on the team in points and third in goals in 2025. Chambers recorded a career-high four points on two goals and two assists in the Friars' win at No. 16/16 Denver (4/19). He was named to the NEILA All-New England Second Team at the conclusion of the season.
Evans appeared in nine games during his freshman campaign for the Friars in 2025. He registered two points on one goal and one assist. Evans scored his first collegiate goal at Providence in the team's 15-12 victory at Bryant (2/8).
Sterritt, a redshirt freshman, is set to make his debut for the Friars during the 2026 men's lacrosse season. Prior to Providence, he attended The Hill Academy in Ontario, Canada. While at The Hill Academy, Sterritt was a tow time Defensive Player of the Year (2023, 2024). He led his team to a 2023 National Prep Lacrosse Championship.
Each Nation will play four pool play matches from August 15-19. The United States, Canada, Haudenosaunee and Australia will compete in Pool A. Jamaica, England, Korea, and New Zealand will play in Pool C. The four Pool A teams will advance directly to the quarterfinal round, while the top two teams from Pools B through E will enter a play-in round on Wednesday, August 20. The four play-in round winners will advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday, August 21, before the semifinals and eventual medal round games on Sunday, August 24.
