PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College men's hockey has added forward Roger McQueen (Saskatoon, Sask.) to the 2025-26 roster after his signing of an athletic aid agreement to attend the College. Selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round with the 10
th overall pick of the 2025 NHL Draft, McQueen becomes the first top-10 draft pick and sixth overall first-round pick in program history.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 197-pound right-shot forward totaled 86 points on 35 goals and 51 assists in 127 career games with the Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL), including 10 goals and 10 assists in 17 games played during the 2024-25 season. McQueen posted 51 points (21g, 30a) in 53 games in 2023-24, ranking second among Wheat Kings leaders in points per game (.96) while pacing them in power-play points (15). Hudson Malinoski, who was a teammate of his with the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA squad in 2021-22.
McQueen excelled on the international stage for Canada at the 2022 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge, the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2024 U18 World Championship, winning gold medals in those final two events. He led Canada with eight points on four goals and four assists in six contests while serving as an alternate captain during the 2022 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge. McQueen earned an invite to the recent 2025 World Junior Summer Showcase with Canada but was unable to participate in the event.
