Men's Hockey Hosts Annual Vision Cup At Wannamoisett Country Club

Over $100,000 was raised to support the program and an additional $50,000 for revenue sharing.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The annual Providence College Men's Hockey Vision Cup presented by QML, Inc. was held on Monday, Aug. 25 at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, R.I.
The fundraising event welcomed Friar supporters, sponsors, fans, family and friends of Providence College Athletics and the Friars men's hockey program for an exciting day on the course. The event raised $100,000 and an additional $50,000 for revenue sharing. All proceeds from the event will help fuel the men's ice hockey program and are critical in this new revenue-sharing landscape.
Supporters enjoyed an 18-hole round of golf, exclusive gear and the chance to connect with the men's ice hockey coaching staff and current student-athletes. Lunch was sponsored by ServPro, led by Joe Tutsch, while the Barry Family, Hope Barry '25 and Jon Barry '19, hosted the dinner in continued support of Friar hockey. The speaking program, which featured insights from student-athletes, was sponsored by Amica.
"We're deeply thankful to Dennis Smith '74 and Mike Huber '78 of QML, Inc., for serving as our title sponsor and helping make the Men's Ice Hockey Vision Cup a success," Athletic Director Steve Napolillo said. "We also extend our gratitude to the Barry Family for their unwavering support of Friar Hockey and to ServPro for generously sponsoring the lunch portion. A special thanks to Amica, led by Ted Shallcross, for sponsoring the student-athlete speaking program and continuing to champion Providence College Athletics."
In addition to meeting Head Coach Nate Leaman and members of the coaching staff, golfers had the opportunity to meet two current players, Tomas Machu '28 from Ostrava, Czechia and graduate student Kale McCallum '26 from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
"Thank you to all of the alumni, sponsors, supporters and fans who came out to support this year's Men's Hockey Vision Cup," Head Coach Nate Leaman said. "Our supporters are the heartbeat of Friar Hockey; they fuel everything we do. With the momentum from this event and a hungry roster, we're excited for what's ahead. We can't wait to see Friartown packing Schneider Arena this season."
"The Vision Cup is a great annual event that brings together our alumni, fans and friends in support of Friar Hockey," Assistant Athletic Director/Development Coordinator Nina Souza said. "Today's event at Wannamoisett not only celebrated our program but also provided an exciting look ahead into the upcoming season. We are deeply grateful for the continued generosity and commitment of our community. We truly couldn't do this without you."
