Fairfield, Conn. - Junior center Monika Roberts picked up her third double-double of the season as she led four Friars in double figures in Providence College's 76-69 win at Fairfield on Friday afternoon at Alumni Hall.
Roberts scored 21 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead the way for PC. She was joined in double figures by junior forward Jen Gombotz who recorded her own double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Guards Meghan Hinds and Chrissy Vozab scored 15 and 14 points respectively as Providence won its second in a row and fourth in the last five games to improve to 5-4 on the season.
The Friars are over the .500 mark for the first time since January 3, 1998 when PC was 6-5 that season. The five wins by the Friars equals last season's total output.

Junior center Gail Strumpf led the Stags with 21 points and 15 rebounds in the game. The loss drops Fairfield to 9-4 on the season.
Providence returns to action on Sunday, January 2nd when the Friars host the Princeton Tigers in a 2:00 p.m. game at Alumni Hall. To ring in the new century, admission to the Princeton game will be free.
