PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Head Swim Coach John O'Neill today announced the 1998-99 captains and the team schedule for next season.
Men's captains are seniors Jed Michowicz (Santa Clara, CA) and Sean Connell (Roseland, NJ). Michnowicz became the all-time career point scorer in Providence College history this past season. A three-time team MVP, the computer science major enters his senior season owning more than 15 school records. Connell received the David Hardy Coach's Award as a junior and was named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
Women's captains are Carla Clemente (Loudonville, NY) and Jane Thompson (Halifax, Nova Scotia). Clemente was the team MVP as a junior and showed her versatility at the BIG EAST Championship as she became the first Friar to swim five different relay events. Thompson helped the Friars while swimming the backstroke and butterfly.
