HANOVER, N.H. -- The Providence College men's golf team finished 7th of 17 teams at the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club in Hanover, N.H. on September 24. The Invitational was won by Rhode Island, which registered a score of 563. Dartmouth's Lee Birchall won the individual title with a total score of 135.
The Friars recorded a two-day, two-round total of 589 (292-297). Senior Dean Cashman (Etna, N.H.) paced the Friars with a two-round total of 145 (75-70). Cashman finished tied for 16th overall of the 85 golfers in the field.
PC's other golfers were senior Ben Bridgeo of Southbridge, Mass. (tied 21st, 70-76), junior Chris Tobey of Hopkinton, Mass. (tied 27th, 71-76), sophomore Ryan Shaw of Hopkinton, Mass. (tied 47th, 78-75) and senior Chris Hynes of Warwick, R.I. (58th, 76-79).
The Friars will return to action on October 2-4 at the Adams Cup Invitational at the Newport Country Club in Newport, R.I.
