HANOVER, N.H. - The Providence College field hockey team was defeated by Dartmouth, 2-0, in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I Field Hockey Tournament on Saturday, November 10 in Hanover, New Hampshire. The Friars entered the tournament as the fourth-seed, while Dartmouth earned the right to host the championship field as the top-seed.

Dartmouth scored both of its goals in the first half. Lisa Thomas netted the Big Greens' first goal, which proved to be the game winner, at the 11:30 mark on a penalty corner. Thomas was assisted by Lauren Welsh and Kristin Barlup. Welsh scored Dartmouth's second goal with 1:50 remaining in the half on an assist from Thomas.
