Women's Swimming & Diving Defeated By Maine, 175-125

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College women's swimming and diving team was defeated by the University of Maine on Saturday, January 19th at PC's Taylor Natatorium. The Friar women were defeated 175-125.
Senior Lee Barnum (Hyde Park, N.Y.) paced five women's team members to event victories with her wins in the 100 meter butterfly (1:08.15), the 200 meter butterfly (2:28.56) and the 200 meter IM (2:32.39). Senior Lauren DeGray (Wethersfield, Conn.) won the 800 meter freestyle for the Friars, finishing in 9:40.39. Junior Kate Fuller (Staten Island, N.Y.) won the 200 meter breaststroke, completing the event in 2:54.11 for PC. Junior Mary Burke (Burr Ridge, Ill.) won the optional one meter diving event with a winning score of 156.45. Freshman Jamie Modon-Cohen (Yorktown, N.Y.) rounds out the Providence women's winners, as she captured the required one meter diving event with a score of 141.08.
The women's swimming and diving team will return to action on Friday, January 25 when they travel to Loyola College in Baltimore for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
