Swimming & Diving Competes At Holy Cross

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Providence College swimming and diving teams competed at Holy Cross Wednesday evening with the men's team (2-4) winning 10 events and posting a 123-99 victory over the Crusaders. The women's team (2-2-1) won seven events and tied Holy Cross with the score of 120-120.
On the women's side, PC won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:08.08. The relay was made up of freshman Blair Flynn (Middletown, R.I.), junior Annie Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa.), junior Katelyn Flynn (Sinking Spring, Pa.) and junior Emily Corcoran (Haverhill, Mass.). Blair Flynn also won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.59 as well as the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.22.
In addition, Nemeth won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:14.58 while Corcoran won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.33 and Katelyn Flynn won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:12.69.
Sophomore Kellie Ryan (Dracut, Mass.) won the one-meter dive with a score of 175.35, while sophomore Jessica McCarthy (Olivebridge, N.Y.) won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:25.27.
The Providence College women's swimming and diving team returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 20 with the Blue Devil Duals at Central Connecticut State.
