Swimming Fares Well At Metropolitan Collegiate Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Providence College women's swimming and diving team placed fourth out of 21 teams with 382 points at the Metropolitan Conference Championships this past weekend. The Friars' men's swimming and diving team placed seventh out of 17 teams with 197 points.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team placed sixth out of 16 teams with a time of 1:28.80. The quartet was comprised of sophomore Tom McLoughlin (Leonardo, N.J.), senior Matt Raske (New Rochelle, N.Y.) freshman Ryan Barnicle (Newington, Conn.) and junior Frank LaMonaca (Cheshire, Conn.).
Individually, sophomore Andrew Zockoff (Dover, Mass.) placed sixth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.45, and was a member of the 400-yard medley relay team that placed seventh with a time of 3:38.53. Other members of the squad included junior Seth Brockman (Kenner, La.), La Monaca and Barnicle. Providence swimming and diving returns to action Friday, Feb. 25 as begins the ECAC Championships.
