Swimming and Diving Closes The Season On A High Note

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Providence College men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at the Metropolitan Collegiate February 17-19 at Rutgers University. The Friars women's team placed fourth among the 20 scoring teams and tallied their highest ever point total at the meet.
Junior Katelyn Flynn (Sinking Spring, Pa.) won the 400-yard IM with a meet-record time of 4:30.79 and was named the female swimmer of the meet. Flynn also placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.25 and third in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:10.64.
In addition, junior teammate Annie Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won the 200-yard breaststroke with a meet-record time of 2:24.33. Last season she set a school record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.94.
The meet was the season-finale for both the Providence men and women.
