Providence Tennis Signs Incoming Student-Athlete

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College tennis Head Coach Wayne Turner has announced the signing of Allie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y.) to a National Letter of Intent. Cohen will enroll at Providence College in the fall of 2006 and play for the Friars' tennis team.

"I am very happy that Allie has committed to Providence College." Turner said. "She will have an immediate impact on our program and will be a great represntation of our school, both on and off the court. I look forward to coaching her over the next four years."

Cohen, who played at No. 1 singles for six-straight years, compiled a career record of 75-20 while playing at James-Dewitt High School's top spot. She received all-league honors each season and captained her varsity teams as a junior and senior. She also led her squad to the team sectional title for four consecutive years (2000-2004), was a two-time MVP (2004-05) and a two-time Empire State Games participant (2004-05).
