SCOUTING PROVIDENCE FIELD HOCKEY:
• The Friars enter Friday's game vs. No. 4 Connecticut with a 9-6 record and a 1-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. Providence is coming off of a disappointing, 2-0, loss to Brown on Oct. 13. The Friars out-shot the Brown Bears, 32-7, and held a 15-2 advantage in penalty corners during the game.
• Providence has scored 51 goals this season through 15 games. It marks the most goals scored by the program in a single-season since 2009. That year, Providence netted 56 goals in 20 games. During the program's 39-year history, which includes the current season, the team has scored 50+ goals 12 times. The record for goals in a single-season by the program is 67 (1989), and marks the only time in program history that the team has scored 60+ goals.
• Freshman Megan Hamilton (Warrington, Pa.) leads the Friars with 27 points on 12 goals and three assists. Using available records dating back to the 1987 season (spanning the last 28 seasons), Hamilton's 27 points are the most recorded by a rookie at Providence College.
• Megan Hamilton (Warrington, Pa.), Daniella Bernasconi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Steph Guglielmo (Castle Rock, Colo.) have each recorded 25+ points and 10+ goals this season. They are the only trio to achieve that feat in the same season, using complete team statistics dating back to the 1989 campaign (spanning the last 26 season). Only 22 players total have scored 25+ points in a single-season during that span (includes current season).
• Providence is one of five teams in NCAA Division I to have two of its players rank among the top-25 goal scorers in the country. Megan Hamilton (Warrington, Pa.) and Daniella Bernasconi (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) rank 19th and 24th, respectively. The Friars are joined by Iowa, James Madison, St. Francis (Pa.) and Penn as the only teams with multiple representatives on the list. Additionally, Hamilton is second among freshman in goals scored (12). Tara Vittese, of Virginia, has 13 goals as a rookie.
• Deidra Clymer (South Windsor, Conn.) has played 1,040 minutes in goal this season and owns a 1.89 goals against average and a 0.632 save percentage.

SCOUTING CONNECTICUT FIELD HOCKEY:

• The Huskies boast a balanced offensive attack, featuring four players who have scored five goals. Charlotte Veitner leads the team in scoring with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Anna Middendorf is second with 13 points on five goals and three assists. Roisin Upton checks in at third place with 12 points on three goals and a team-best six assists.

• The Huskies are in the midst of a three-game win streak, including two BIG EAST victories over Georgetown (6-0) and 19th-ranked Old Dominion (4-0). All three of Connecticut's losses were to nationally-ranked opponents, including No. 15 Boston College (3-2, SO), No. 9 Stanford (3-1) and No. 1 North Carolina (2-1). The Huskies most recent victory came against Boston University, 2-1, in a shoot-out on Oct. 12.
