PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Four Providence College field hockey players earned 2015 All-BIG EAST honors, and was released by the league office on Nov. 4. Junior midfielder Adrienne Houle (Burlington, Ontario) was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, while sophomore forward Megan Hamilton (Warrington, Pa.), freshman midfielder Emma Lucas (Naarden, Netherlands) and senior midfielder Emma Mackie (Delta, British Columbia) were each recoginzed on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
Houle earned BIG EAST post-season honors for the first time in her career with the Friars. She led the Providence in scoring this season with a career-high 13 points on six goals and one assist. She scored a season-high four points with two goals, including the game winner, in a 3-2 victory vs. Quinnipiac on Oct. 11. In 56 career games, Houle has recorded 33 points on 14 goals and five assists. She ranks inside the top-50 all-time in career scoring at Providence (T-47th), and is tied for 36th all-time in career goals (14).
Hamilton made her second-consecutive appearance on the All-BIG EAST Second Team, having also earned the honor during her rookie campaign in 2014. She finished third among her teammates in scoring this season with 10 points on four goals and two assists. She tallied a season-best four points on two goals in the Friars' 4-1 victory over Georgetown on Oct. 2. In 38 career games, Hamilton has amassed 46 points on 19 goals and eight assists. She sits in a tie for 31st all-time in career scoring (46 points) and is tied for 26th all-time in career goals (19).
Lucas finished second on the team in scoring as a rookie in 2015 with 11 points on four goals and three assists.She missed the Friars' first two games of the season with an injury, but returned to the field for her collegiate debut against No. 14 Michigan on Sept. 4 (L, 1-0). Lucas recorded her first collegiate points on Sept. 17 with two goals in a 6-1 victory against Brown. She notched her first career assist vs. BIG EAST foe Georgetown on Oct. 2. Lucas is one of three freshmen to earn post-season recognition league-wide, joining Chrissy Horn (Old Dominion) and Amelia Iacobucci (Connecticut). Horn and Iacobucci were named co-BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, and Horn joined Lucas on the Second Team.
Mackie earned All-BIG EAST honors for the first time in her career as a member of the Second Team. She finished the year with eight points on one goal and a team-best six assists. She scored her lone goal of the season in a 4-3 loss to No. 9 Liberty on Oct. 25. Mackie finished her career at Providence with 34 points on eight goals and 18 assists in 74 games. Her 18 assists rank 17th all-time in program history.
