Women's Tennis Defeated By Butler, 4-1

CAYCE, S.C. - The Providence College women's tennis team took on Butler in the 2017 BIG EAST Women's Tennis Championships Presented by Jeep, on Friday, April 28 at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C. The No. 10 seed Friars were outpaced the No. 8 Bulldogs, 4-1.
 The Friars jumped to an early lead, earning the doubles point. Senior Amanda Pitocco (Warwick, R.I.) partenered up with freshman Aidan Epstein (Fairway, Kan.) to take No. 1 singles, 6-2. The Bulldogs fought back to win No. 2 singles, but the Friar pairing of Katherine DeNucci (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Annie DaSilva (East Greenwich, R.I.) sealed the point by winning third doubles, 6-3.
 Butler went on to win sixth, first, third, and fourth singles consecutively to pull ahead 4-1 and clinch the match.
 This marks the end of match play for Providence College in their 2016-17 season, as the Friars close out the year with a 4-14 mark.
