PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On Wednesday September 28, Providence College Athletics held the sold-out Vision Cup Golf Tournament at the world-renowned Newport Country Club in Newport, R.I. The Vision Cup, which is presented by Santander, raised more than $160,000 for Providence College Men's Basketball.
Guests at the Vision Cup had the chance to meet the Friar coaching staff as well as current student-athletes and former Friar legends, including
LaDontae Henton and Kris Dunn.
Jared Bynum spoke to the field during the post-golf luncheon. Following the speaking portion of the luncheon, it was easy to see the excitement that Friar fans have for the upcoming season.
"We are so fortunate to have the support of Santander Bank to make this day possible. Coupled with the relationship we have with Newport Country Club and so many of its members, this day is Friartown at its best. I want to thank everyone who came out today to support our program and I am looking forward to seeing everyone this season at the AMP" said Head Men's Basketball Coach

Donors fly in from across the country to participate and I am incredibly thankful for everyone who came out to make this year's tournament such a success. Coming off a Sweet 16 run, the funds generated from these events will help us continue to keep Friar basketball competing at the highest level" said Athletic Director

Since its inception in 2011, the Santander Vision Cup series has generated more than $2.5 million for Friar men's basketball.
