Providence, R.I. — On Tuesday October 10, Providence College Athletics, in conjunction with Finetco, hosted the highly anticipated Joe Canavan '65 Memorial Golf Tournament, at Point Judith Country Club in Narragansett, R.I.

The tournament featured a sold-out field of golfers, showcasing the enduring legacy of Joe Canavan '65, whose passion and commitment to his alma mater left an indelible mark. Joe's family, and wife, Marybeth, were in attendance and played in the Memorial Tournament. The sold-out event raised more than $60,000 which will support the Canavan Sports Medicine Center, which enhances the physical and mental health of our friar student-athletes.

Steve Napolillo, Athletics Director at Providence College, commended the event, stating, "We are so happy MaryBeth is here today along with her children and grandchildren. The Joe Canavan '65 Memorial Tournament serves as a fitting tribute to a man whose impact on our institution continues to resonate.
