PROVIDENCE, R.I.
 - The NCAA released the 2021-22 Academic Progress Rate report on Tuesday (May 2). Five Providence College teams posted perfect multi-year rates of 1,000. Men's cross country and track, men's and women's swimming and diving and women's tennis each recorded a perfect APR.

Women's swimming and diving has held an APR of 1,000 for nine-consecutive years and women's tennis has held a perfect score for eight-consecutive years.

Other Providence College teams' APR scores were: women's ice hockey (996), men's lacrosse (996), women's basketball (995), women's volleyball (994), women's soccer (993), field hockey (992), men's track (991), women's track (991), men's basketball (989), men's soccer (984), softball (984), women's cross country (983), and men's ice hockey (981).

The minimum APR academic standard for each team is 930. Typically, teams that scored below the benchmark would have to face penalties that encourage an emphasis and prioritization on academics. However, due to the current penalty suspension in place, teams will not be subjected to penalties this year. Last year, APR data was not released publicly, and penalties were not assessed.

The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in each sport. The most recent APRs are multi-year rates based on scores from the 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 academic years.
