Women's Tennis Splits Weekend Matches

WARWICK, R.I. - The Providence College women's tennis team split a pair of matches on the weekend against the University of Rhode Island and Stonehill College. The Friars fell to URI, 7-0, on Friday (Feb. 16) before rebounding to defeat Stonehill, 5-2, on Saturday (Feb. 17).
On Friday, the Rams swept all matches to emerge victorious by a 7-0 score.
On Saturday, the duos of Lauren Carson/Elisa Davalos and Camila Barrera/Erika Beltran earned wins in their matches to claim the doubles point for Providence. The Friars then sealed the match with decisive victories from the No. 3-6 slots. Mae Abreu, Liria Lora, Elisa Davalos and Erika Beltran all earned wins in singles play.
Providence returns to action next weekend (Feb. 23-25) for a trio of matches against Sacred Heart, Fairfield and Colgate.
