Friar fundraising celebrates the start of another exciting season on the greens.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletics launched the 2025 golf tournament series this month, bringing together students, alumni, families, and supporters for a series of exciting fundraising events.
As part of a cherished annual tradition, Karl '88 and Kerry '88 Anderson hosted members of the Class of 2029 at their home in Greenwich, Conn. This event welcomed over 40 incoming freshmen families from Westchester and Fairfield counties. This flagship event introduced new Friars to the Providence College community, offering them the opportunity to connect with Head Men's Basketball Coach Kim English and Senior Associate VP of Admissions Raul Fonts.
The following day, Athletic Director Steve Napolillo and Kim English joined Friar alumni, parents, and donors at the iconic Winged Foot Golf Club for a special gathering. Beyond strengthening the support network behind Friar men's basketball, the event also marked a historic moment—Myla Bisceglia, the first-ever commit in Providence College Women's Golf history, was in attendance, symbolizing a milestone for the program.
On Thursday May 8th, Santander sponsored the Men's Basketball Vision Cup at the Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn. The first in a series of Vision Cup golf outings to support the men's basketball program, this year's participants were treated to golf at the No. 1 ranked course in Connecticut followed by a lunch with Kim English. Funds raised from this outing go directly to supporting the men's basketball program.
"The support of the Friar Family was on full display this month as we celebrated three incredible events," Napolillo said. "Welcoming the next generation of Friars to our family and getting to spend time with familiar faces on the course was truly a highlight of the week. Thank you to everyone who showed up and displayed incredible passion for Friar Athletics."
"The Men's Basketball Vision Cup Presented by Santander is a true reflection of our Friar Family's dedication," English said. "The incredible support from our donors helps drive our team's success, and I am thrilled that our next team will experience the unmatched passion our fans have for this program. We are deeply grateful for their belief in Friar Basketball."
