CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Providence College women's hockey team defeated Boston College, 3-2, in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass. to pick up their first Hockey East win of the season. The Friars improved to 3-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in Hockey East play, while Boston College dropped to 2-1-0 and 1-1-0. Junior
Hannah Clarke (Richmond Hill, Ontario) scored the game winning goal for the Friars in overtime.

Josie Lang (Stillwater, Minn.) scored her first career goal. Senior

-Providence doubled the lead less than four minutes later when Hofbauer scored a deflected goal with 3:50 remaining in the period. Sophomores

-The Friars outshot the Eagles 11-4 in the first.
2nd Period
-Boston College cut the deficit to one when Jilian Klein scored on the power-play at 13:49 of the period. Olivia Maffeo and Sarah Powers each assisted on the play.
-The Eagles outshot the Friars 12-11 in the frame.
-Each team had two power play attempts in the period.
3rd Period
-Boston College tied the game with 13:11 remaining when Ava Thomas found the back of the net with assists from Sarah Powers and Penelope Lavoie.
-Both teams had chances on the power play after the goal but failed to convert.
Overtime
-Junior
Hannah Clarke (Richmond Hill, Ontario) scored the game-winning goal for the Friars at 2:45 of overtime to secure two points and the first Hockey East win of the season. Knapp and sophomore
Sophie Harold (Cobourg, Ontario) assisted on the play. It marked Harold's first collegiate point and Knapp's team leading seventh point.

Mallory Hartl (Askov, Minn.) made 31 saves in the victory.
