PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College men's basketball Head Coach Bryan Hodgson announced today (May 13) that 6-7 forward Leonardo Marangon (Vigodarzere, Italy) has signed an athletic aid agreement to attend Providence in 2026-27.

"Leonardo brings significant international experience to our roster for next season," Hodgson said. "He won a gold medal playing for Italy at the U20 EuroBasket Tournament in 2025.  In addition to being a high-caliber athlete, Leonardo is a strong defender, who led his team in steals.  He also had tremendous improvement in his three-point shooting as he shot 39 percent from behind the arc in 2026."

In 2025-26, Marangon averaged 9.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game for UEB Gesteco Cividale.  Marangon was 78-164 from field (47.5 percent). He also shot 39.3 percent (46-117) from three-point territory.  He scored in double digits 17 times in 36 games, including a season-high 18 points, twice.

In 2025, Marangon helped Italy capture a gold medal in the U20 EuroBasket Tournament after he averaged 8.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in seven games.
