Cindy Curley ’85 To Be Inducted Into Hockey Hall Of Fame

Curley ranks third all-time in program history with 225 career points.
TORONTO, Ont. – Providence College women's hockey alumna Cindy Curley '85 will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026, as announced on Monday, June 22 by Ron Francis, chair of the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Curley will join Cammi Granato '93 as the only Friar women's hockey alumni inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The induction gala will take place at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto on Nov. 9, 2026.
A native of Stow, Mass., Curley played for the Friars from 1981-85 and remains one of the top scorers in program history. She ranks third all-time with 225 career points on 110 goals and 115 assists, while ranking fourth in goals and third in assists. Curley recorded two 60-plus point seasons during her career, totaling 63 points in 1981-82 and 62 points in 1984-85.
Curley helped lead Providence to its first two ECAC Championship titles in 1984 and 1985. She scored the game-winning goal in the 1984 ECAC Championship and earned ECAC All-Star Team honors in 1985. Curley also ranks among the program's single-season leaders in multiple categories, including assists (35), goals (33) and points (63).
Following her collegiate career, Curley represented the United States on the international stage at four Women's World Championships in 1987, 1990, 1992 and 1994. She earned All-Tournament Team honors at the 1990 Women's World Championship and helped elevate women's hockey during a pivotal era of growth for the sport.
Curley was inducted into the Massachusetts Hockey Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Providence College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013. That same year, she became just the second woman inducted as an individual into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
