2025-2026 Cheerleading Team Tryouts
Athletes who have been accepted to Providence College and have submitted their deposit will have an in-person tryout.

All tryout participants will have a virtual interview on Friday April 25th and Saturday April 26th. All to be scheduled individually.

Eligibility
All admitted incoming freshmen and transfer students, as well as current Providence College Students. Current and transfer students MUST have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Skill Recommendations:
Tumbling:
Standing back handspring or standing tuck, round off back-handspring tuck. While tumbling is important, it is just one aspect of a well-rounded cheerleader. If you do not have tumbling, however excel in other areas, you may still qualify as a candidate to tryout
Stunting:
We judge on technique and proficiency OR potential to obtain these skills quickly
Tops- Straight up body positions, full ups, inversion potential, basket potential
Group Stunt Bases/Backs - Releases, full ups, inversions
Partner Stunt Bases - Shoulder stands, walk in hands, toss hands press extension
Are you a good candidate?
Males without cheer experience who demonstrate strength and athleticism
Females who have cheer experience and former gymnasts
Strong commitment to Providence College Athletics
Full-time student (12+ credits/semester)
