No. 15 Men's Hockey Skates To 2-2 Tie With No. 11/10 UConn

The Huskies earned the extra Hockey East point with a 1-0 win in the shootout.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  – The No. 15 Providence College men's hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie against No. 11/10 UConn on Saturday (Nov. 8) at Schneider Arena. The Huskies earned the extra point in the shootout.

NOTES

- Kale McCallum got the Friars on the board at 16:48 of the first period on a power-play goal with assists from Quinn Mantei and Will Elger.

- John Mustard gave Providence a 2-0 lead at 4:47 of the second period with his sixth goal of the season. Elger and Roger McQueen earned the assists.

- UConn rallied in the third with a pair a goals to force overtime.

- Carlin Dezainde scored at the 6:18 before Ryan Tattle tied the game with the extra attacker with 1:25 to play.

- Neither team scored in overtime as the Huskies held a 3-2 advantage in shots.

- Trey Scott scored the winner in the third round of the shootout for UConn.

- Mustard extended his career-long point streak to nine games, registering a point in every game this season. He has 11 points on six goals and five assists in the first nine games this season.

- McQueen ended the night was 12 shots on goal.

- Elger added a career-high two assists.
