Syracuse University (5-6) - The Orangemen enter Friday's game with a two-game winning streak. Last week, Syracuse earned two BIG EAST wins with victories against Villanova and Seton Hall. Syracuse has posted a 3-3 mark in BIG EAST play this season ... Syracuse has won its last four games at PC's Glay Field. The Orangemen are led by graduate student Gabriel Gervais (Brossard, Quebec), who has registered 11 points (five goals, one assist) in 11 games. Junior goalkeeper Kevin Bacher (East Meadow, N.Y.) has played every game this season for Syracuse. He has recorded a 5-6 mark, a 1.50 goals against average and a .761 save percentage.
Providence College (4-6-1) - The Friars posted a 0-2 record last week. On October 5, Brown defeated PC, 2-1, at Glay Field. On October 9, Notre Dame shutout the Friars, 4-0, in South Bend, Ind. ... Last season, the Friars defeated Syracuse in overtime, 1-0, in Syracuse, N.Y. The Friars are 6-10 all-time against Syracuse. PC's last win against the Orangemen at Glay Field was a 2-1 victory in 1990 ... Junior forward Kevin Jones (Westford, Mass.) has provided the only offense for the Friars in the last six games.
