Women's Basketball Defeated By Memphis, 72-59

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The University of Memphis defeated the Providence College Friars, 72-59, in women's college basketball action on Friday, November 26 in the first game of the 15th Annual Lady Tiger Classic at Memphis, Tenn.
Sophomore Melissa Bush led the Lady Tigers with 20 points off a 9-of-20 shooting effort from the field. Bush was a defensive force, recording a game-high seven steals and pulling down six rebounds.
Junior Monika Roberts led the Friars with 22 points off an 8-of-14 shooting effort from the field. She also recorded eight rebounds and a blocked shot. Sophomore Jen Gombotz also scored in double figures for the Friars with 14 points, while she led the squad in rebounding with nine boards.
The Friars will return to action on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the consolation game against Samford.
