PROVIDENCE, RI - The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Boston College, 79-64 in Alumni Hall this evening.
Three Friars scored in double digits including 15 points from Meghan Hinds (Toledo, OH), 12 points from junior Farrah Thomas (Newport, Ark) and 11 points from freshman Chrissy Vozab (Amenia, NY). Sophomores Monika Roberts (Pittsburg, CA) and Jen Gombotz (Southington, CT) collected six boards each.
The Friars shot 36% from the floor and found themselves down, 47-31 at the half. The Friars cut it to seven points early in the second half when Vozab connected on a three-pointer and make the score 47-40.
Boston College got a career high from freshman Becky Gottstein who collected 20 points (7-9 fg) while also grabbing six boards in 20 minutes of action.
The Friars fall to 3-13 and 2-7 in the BIG EAST while Boston College improves to 14-3 overall and 6-3 in BIG EAST play.
The Friars host #15 Rutgers on Sunday, January 24 at the Providence Civic Center. Game time is 1 pm.
