HANOVER, N.H. -- Dartmouth's Chris Baldwin knocked in a rebound at 1:25 of overtime to give the Big Green at 6-5 win over the Providence College Friars in men's hockey action on Friday, December 11 in Hanover, N.H.

The Big Green wasted no time getting their offense going as Chris Talierico one timed a pass from behind the net at 1:22 of the first period to take a 1-0 lead. The Friars evened the game at 1-1 when Doug Sheppard wristed a shot from the left side past Dartmouth netminder Eric Almon during a five-on-three power play at 14:57 of the first.

Craig Lund got the Big Green a quick goal to start the second period when he broke past the PC defense down the left side and backhanded a shot past PC goaltender Mark Kane 16 seconds into the period. PC battled back to tie the game at 2:26 of the second as Jon Coe converted on a breakaway. Dartmouth took its third lead of the game at 12:41 of the second when Zach Hafer finished off a two-on-one breakaway by slipping a low show through Kane's pads. One minute and five seconds later, the Friars benefited from a miscue by the Dartmouth defense as Troy Lake fired a pass from behind the net which deflected off a Dartmouth player past Almon for the Friars' third tally of the game.

The Friars took their first lead of the game at 2:49 of the third period when Cole Gendreau sliced through the middle of the ice and scored on a breakaway. However, PC's lead was shortlived because the Big Green's Hafer notched his second goal of the contest at the 3:23 mark of the third period. Jerry Keefe put the Friars ahead (5-4) with his 10th goal of the season at 6:35 of the final stanza. During a five-on-three power play the Big Green tied the game as Ryan Chaytors poked in a rebound to send the game into overtime.

With the win, Dartmouth raised its record to 4-4 overall , while Providence fell to 7-8 overall .
