PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brown University defeated Providence College, 3-2, in men's soccer action on Tuesday, October 10 at Brown's Stevenson Field.
Brown's Adam Buchanan (Chandler, Ariz.) booted a low shot inside the far post for the only goal of the first half at 41:14.
PC tied the game at the 54:40 mark when Todd Stigliano (Newington, Conn.) one timed a shot past Brown goalkeeper Matt Cross (Arlington, Texas). The Bears regained the lead on goals by Eduardo Romaniero (North Brunswick, N.J.) at 62:35 and Scott Powers (Barrington, R.I.) at 73:55. The Friars got within one goal when Russell Corner (Abington, Mass.) scored with 1:03 remaining in the game.
Cross made six saves in the win. PC goalkeeper Danny Glynn (Manchester, England) recorded four stops in the loss.
With the victory, Brown raised its record to 6-3-1 overall, while Providence fell to 3-8-1 overall.
Providence College returns to action on Sunday, October 15 at Seton Hall at 2:30 p.m.
