University of New Hampshire (2-8-0, 0-3-0): The University of New Hampshire travels to Providence College on Wednesday, October 4 to play a game that was postponed from September 15 due to inclement weather. Wednesday's game marks the 16th meeting in the all-time series between both schools with New Hampshire holding a 10-3-2 edge. The Wildcats enter Wednesday's game having dropped their last six decisions. UNH was defeated at Northeastern, 4-0, in its last outing on September 30. Senior forward Marky Solomon (Foster, R.I.) leads the Wildcats in scoring with six points (two goals, two assists). In goal, senior Stephanie Springer (Solana Beach, Calif.) has posted a 1-7-0 record in eight starts between the posts.
Providence College Friars (3-8-0, 0-4-0): The Providence College Friars return to home action on October 4, when they host the University of New Hampshire at 3:00 p.m. at PC's Glay Field. The Friars resume play after dropping a 1-0 overtime decision versus St. John's on Sunday, October 1. Prior to the loss to St. John's, Providence snapped a seven-game losing streak with 3-0 victory over Loyola University Chicago on Friday, September 29. In the win over Loyola, junior forward Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) netted a career-high three goals to lead the Friars to the victory. For the season, Welsh has tallied five goals and two assists. In goal, freshman goalkeeper Caroline Haines (Stillwater, Minn.) posted a 1-1-0 record last week. In her outings versus Loyola and St. John's, Haines surrendered one goal and stopped 11 shots. Overall, Haines has registered an overall record of 3-8-0 with a .813 save percentage and a 1.57 goals against average.
