Villanova (2-4) - After opening the season with two consecutive wins, the Wildcats have lost their last four games. Last week, Villanova was defeated by Hofstra (1-0) and St. John's (5-1) ... Villanova has posted a 0-2 mark in BIG EAST play ... Villanova's last win against the Friars was a 1-0 victory in 1997. The team will be trying to earn its first win at PC since 1993 ... The Wildcats have registered a 6-4-1 record all-time against the Friars ... Senior Joe Noonan (Wilmington, Del.) leads the Villanova offense with five points (two goals, one assist) in six games. Sophomore goalkeeper Sean Teesdale (Blue Bell, Pa.) has played in five games, recording a 1-4 record, a 2.57 goals against average and a .730 save percentage.
Providence College (1-5) - The Friars enter Friday's game looking to end a two-game losing streak. In PC's most recent game, the Friars were defeated by 18th-ranked Pittsburgh, 2-1, in overtime on September 17. Four of PC's five defeats this season have been against ranked teams ... The Friars have registered a 1-2 mark in BIG EAST play this year ... Last season, the Friars posted a 4-1 win against Villanova. It marked PC's second consecutive win over the Wildcats ... Senior Kevin Jones (Westford, Mass.) leads the team in goals with two. Junior goalkeeper Danny Glynn (Manchester, England) has started all six games for the Friars. Glynn has posted a 1-5 mark, a 1.90 goals against average and a .727 save percentage.
