Jenn Butsch Named HOCKEY EAST player of the Month

Providence College senior forward Jenn Butsch (Berlin, Vt.) was named Women's HOCKEY EAST Player of the Month on December 3, 2002.

Butsch earned the honor for her strong offensive play in the month of November. Butsch has registered one or more points in 12 of the Friars' 14 games. Included in those 12 games were five multiple-point efforts. In the month of November, Butsch recorded seven goals and seven assists for 14 points. Included in that span was a three-point game (1-2-3) against Maine on November 10 and a two-goal performance at Ohio State on November 16. Butsch also had a goal and an assist in the Mayor's Cup game against then No. 7 Brown on Tuesday, November 26 which ended in a 4-4 tie. In the inaugural HOCKEY EAST game on November 1, Butsch was one of two Providence players to record a multiple-point game, including earning an assist on the game-winning goal scored by freshman Katelynn Laffin (Norwell, Mass.)

Providence College hosts Boston College on Saturday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. and No. 1 Harvard on Sunday, December 8 at 4:00 p.m.
