PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Jessalyn Deveny had a career-high 36 points and nine rebounds to lead No. 23 Boston College to an 85-63 victory over Providence on Saturday.
Deveny shot 5-for-7 from 3-point range and 14-for-20 overall, finishing just three points short the school's single-game scoring record.
Amber Jacobs scored 17 points and Clare Droesch added 12 points for Boston College (8-3, 1-0 Big East).
Michal Epstein led Providence (5-6, 0-1) with 13 points, and Brooke Freeburg finished with 12.
The Eagles made a season-high 11 3-pointers and had a season-best 24 assists.
Providence rallied from an 11-point deficit with a 10-3 run, closing within 26-22 with 5:37 left in the first half.
Boston College used an 18-9 run to push its lead to 44-31 at the break.
Providence never got closer than 11 points in the second half.
