VILLANOVA, Pa. -- The Providence College men's soccer team was defeated by Villanova, 1-0, in BIG EAST action on Sunday, October 26 at Villanova, Pa.
Villanova came out strong in the first half and recorded the first seven shots in the game. The Wildcats used the momentum to register the only goal of the game at 20:10. Villanova's Colin Raws collected his own rebound and drilled a shot past Providence junior goalkeeper Jeff Newman (Northboro, Mass.).
The Friars held a 13-11 shot advantage in the second half, but they could not get a shot past Villanova goalkeeper Craig Bald, who finished the contest with four saves.
With the win, Villanova improved to 9-6-1 overall and 4-5-0 in BIG EAST action, while Providence fell to 6-7-2 overall and 4-4-1 in league play.
Providence College returns to action on Wednesday, October 29 versus Harvard at PC's Glay Field at 2:00 p.m.
