PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's soccer team was defeated by Harvard University, 2-0, on Tuesday, November 4 at PC's Glay Field.
The Crimson took a 1-0 lead at 15:55 when Fritz Ladd kicked in a shot from 10 feet in front of the net off of a corner kick. Harvard continued to pressure the Friars in the first half and held an 8-2 shot advantage after 45 minutes of play.
Charles Altchek netted an insurance goal for Harvard just five minutes into the second half.
Friar freshman goalkeeper Chris Konopka (Toms River, N.J.) and junior Jeff Newman (Northboro, Mass.) combined to make three saves.
With the win, Harvard improved to 8-4-3 overall, while Providence fell to 6-9-2 overall.
Providence College returns to action in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals on Sunday, November 9 versus Virginia Tech at Blacksburg, Va. at 1:00 p.m.
