Men's Swimming Loses To Boston College, 179-95.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's swimming and diving team won four events, but was defeated by Boston College, 179-95, this evening at PC's Taylor Natatorium. Providence won the 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter breaststroke, 1-meter dive, and the 400-meter freestyle.
Junior Seth Brockman (Kenner, La.) won the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:04.36, while sophomore Andrew Zockoff (Dover, Mass.) won the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:13.03. He narrowly edged out a pair of BC competitors who finished 0.04 seconds and 0.25 seconds behind him.
Freshman Shane Farrell (Pawtucket, R.I.) won the 1-meter dive with a score of 117.95. It marked the second consecutive meet he has won the event. Sophomore Brian Parker (Rocky Hill, Conn.) won the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:33.77. It was the second time in the past week he had won the event, as he also claimed a first-place crown against Loyola last Saturday with a time of 4:28.50.
Finally, in the 200-meter freestyle relay, the Friars' team of freshman Ryan Barnicle (Newington, Conn.), freshman Garrett Chase (West Hartford, Conn.), sophomore Tom McLoughlin (Leonardo, N.J.), and junior Nick Taylor (Devonshire, Bermuda) was defeated by a mere 0.03 seconds. Their admirable second-place time was 1:45.35.
Providence men's swimming & diving returns to action on Friday, Nov. 19 against Holy Cross. The home meet is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
