Women's Indoor Track Competes At Rhode Island Invitational

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The Providence College women's indoor track team competed at the Rhode Island Invitational on Friday, January 21 at the University of Rhode Island. Nine teams competed in the meet, but the Friars did not have a full team.
In the mile, Providence freshman Michelle Childs (Cameron, Ontario) finished third in the mile in a time of 5:10.97 to qualify for the BIG EAST Championships. Providence had another athlete finish in the top 10 as junior Bridget Black (Westford, Mass.) placed ninth in the 1,000 meters in a time 3:15.97.
The Friars are back in action on Friday, January 28-29 at Boston University's Terrier Classic.
