Marc Cintron Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Providence men's soccer junior midfielder Marc Cintron (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, October 24. It marks the third time this season that a Providence player has earned the Conference's Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Cintron scored a career-high two goals, including the match winner with 3:40 remaining in the second half, to lead Providence to a 2-1 victory over West Virginia on Friday, October 21 in Morgantown. On Tuesday, October 18, Cintron assisted on the game-winning goal as the Friars posted a 1-0 triumph at Pittsburgh.

The Friars (9-5-1, 4-2-1 BIG EAST), who have clinched a BIG EAST Tournament berth for the seventh consecutive season, are back in action on Wednesday, October 26 at 3:00 p.m. when they host Notre Dame on Senior Day. The match will be televised by Cox Sports and aired via tape delay on Friday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 30 at 2:00 p.m.
