PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today that men's soccer Head Coach Chaka Daley has resigned to take the head coaching job at the University of Michigan. Daley, who played four years at Providence College, served as the head coach of the Friars for 12 years and led the squad to five NCAA Tournament appearances and five trips to the BIG EAST Championship Semifinals.

"I want to thank Chaka for all his hard work over the past 12 years," Providence College Athletics Director Bob Driscoll said. "Chaka steadily built Providence College soccer into one of the premier programs in the BIG EAST. While it is unfortunate to lose a coach with Chaka's passion and ability, we are excited to look for a new leader who will guide our program to new heights. We will begin a national search immediately to find our next head coach."
