Men's Hockey No. 4 In The National Polls

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

After a 3-3 tie at No. 5 Quinnipiac (Nov. 27) and a 3-2 home Mayor’s Cup win over Brown (Nov. 30), the Providence College men’s hockey team remained No. 4 in the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.

The Friars are now 11-2-2 on the season and their .800 winning percentage ranks tied for fourth in the country. Providence is one of four teams in the nation with at least 11 wins this season, joining Quinnipiac (13), Minnesota (11) and Ferris State (11).

The Friars are the highest ranked Hockey East team in each poll, with UMass-Lowell (No. 6/7), Boston College (No. 9/9), Notre Dame (No. 11/13) also appearing in both polls. New Hampshire (No. 18) and Northeastern (No. 19) are both ranked in the USCHO.com poll.

The Friars will travel to Boston, Mass. on Friday, Dec. 6 to resume Hockey East play with an 8:00 p.m. game against Northeastern at Matthews Arena.
