CINCINNATI, OHIO - The Providence College women's basketball team fell to Cincinnati, 64-45, on February 23 at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sophomore Tori Rule (Minneapolis, Minn.) led the Friars with 12 points, while senior Symone Roberts (New Britain, Conn.) chipped in 10. Dayeesha Hollins led all scorers for Cincinnati with 17 points and added seven assists and five rebounds.

The Friars trailed the Bearcats, 31-26, at halftime. The game was tied, 21-21, with 8:10 on the clock before Cincinnati went on a 7-0 run to take a 28-21 advantage with 3:58 remaining.

Roberts became the 31st player in program history to reach the 1,000-point career milestone with 2:02 remaining in the first half as she converted a traditional three-point play. Roberts needed just seven point to achieve the feat, and finished the half with seven to lead the Friar offense.

In the second half, the Bearcats started the action on a 12-2 run to take a 43-28 lead with 14:56 on the clock. At the first media time out, Cincinnati owned a 45-32 advantage with 13:29 remaining in the game. During the 14-6 scoring spurt, the Bearcats hit 7-of-8 field goals (87.5-percent), while the Friars were just 3-of-10. Cincinnati maintained control the game the rest of the way, outscoring Providence, 33-19, in the second half overall.

Providence returns to action on Tuesday, February 26 against Marquette. The game will tip-off at 7:05 p.m. at Alumni Hall/Mullaney Gymnasium in Providence, R.I. Cox Sports will televise the game live.
