Men's Soccer Climbs In The National Rankings

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Providence College men's soccer team jumped higher in the national rankings this week (Tuesday, Oct. 28). The Friars are now ranked 8th by Soccer America and 11th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).



Last week (Oct. 21), Providence entered the national rankings for the first time this season with a 10/23 (Soccer America/NSCAA) ranking. The ranking marked the first time the Friars were ranked among the top-25 in the nation since Oct. 8, 2013 when they were 23rd/25th (Soccer America/NSCAA).



Prior to this ranking, the highest the men's soccer team has been ranked in the two national polls was No. 17/20 (Soccer America/NSCAA) on  Sept. 16, 2008.



Providence returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 29 for its final conference home game of the season. The Friars will host DePaul at 7:00 p.m. and will recognize the 2015 graduating class prior to the match as part of senior day.
